Mission Statement
To be the voice and support for the value and dignity of all human life, especially the unborn.
Ser la voz y el soporte por el valor y la dignidad de toda vida humana, en especial de los que todavía no han nacido.
Programs
Spiritual—Underlying every part of our program is the need for prayer and sacrifice. Within parish life, we provide special opportunities and encouragement to come together to pray for the protection of all human life, such as Masses, Rosaries, Holy Hours, and the Spiritual Adoption Program.
Educational—We participate and initiate educational/public information efforts to inform, clarify, and deepen understanding of the basic issues. A goal of our efforts is to insure effective legal protection for the right to life.
Pastoral—We support and lend assistance to pregnancy counseling groups through material drives and collections. We lend financial support to crisis pregnancy centers through various fund-raising activities.
Espiritual – En cada parte de nuestro programa se encuentra la necesidad por la oración y el sacrificio. En la vida parroquial, nosotros facilitamos oportunidades especiales y estímulo para venir juntos a rezar por la protección de la vida humana (Misas, Rosarios, Horas Santas y el Programa de Adopción Espiritual).
Educacional – Participamos e iniciamos en esfuerzos educacionales y públicos para informar, clarificar y profundizar la comprensión de los asuntos básicos. Uno de nuestros objetivos es garantizar la protección legal efectiva por el derecho a la vida.
Pastoral – Nosotros apoyamos y asistimos a los grupos de asesoramiento de embarazo a traves de recolecciones en dinero y especies. Prestamos soporte financiero a los centros de crísis del embarazo a traves de actividades de recaudación de fondos.
Structure
The Ministry meets on the second Monday of each month at the church. We receive direction from the Pro-Life Office of the Archdiocese, which assists the Archbishop of Atlanta in promoting and implementing the United States Bishops’ annual Respect Life Program and Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities. The Pro-Life Office relies on information and direction from the Bishops’ Pro-Life Office.
El Ministerio se reune los segundos Lunes de cada mes en la iglesia. Recibimos dirección de la Oficina Pro-Vida de la Arquidiócesis, la cual asiste al Arzobispo de Atlanta en promover e implementar las actividades de Programa por el Respeto a la Vida y de Planificación Pastoral. La Oficina Pro-Vida se rige por la información y dirección de la Oficina Pro-Vida del Obispo.
Vincentians are lay people dedicated to quietly and discreetly helping those in need or distress. In the spirit of justice and charity, we try to help solve emergencies with financial, spiritual, and emotional support. The people the St. Benedict’s SVDP Conference assists live in the Duluth and Alpharetta area. Our volunteers meet in person with our clients in an attempt to prevent eviction, keep homes warm, water running, and food on the table whenever possible. Training is required and provided by the Society. In addition to case work, other volunteer opportunities are available with St. Vincent de Paul’s Thrift Stores. Los Vincentinos son laicos dedicados a ayudar a los necesitados de una manera tranquila y discreta. El el espíritu de la justicia y la caridad, tratamos de ayudar a resolver emergencias con soporte financiero, espiritual y emocional. La gente de la conferencia de San Vicente de Paul de San Benito asiste a los residentes de Duluth y Alpharetta. Nuestros voluntarios se reunen personalmente con nuestros clientes para prevenir EVICTION, mantener las casas calientes en el invierno, el servicio de agua y comida en la mesa cuando sea posible. Adicionalmente otras oportunidades están disponibles a traves de las tiendas de San Vicente de Paul. Para conocer mas asista a una de nuestras reuniones.
