This group of dedicated parishioners meets after the 9:00 am Mass on Mondays and Fridays to prepare the church and chapel for our daily and weekend worship. We have a commitment to maintaining our worship spaces with dignity. This includes taking care of the linens, candles, and the sacred vessels. To enhance our sanctuary and chapel, the flowers and seasonal decorations are also an important part of our ministry. A small amount of training is required, which is provided by the women in the Altar Guild.
Este grupo feligreses se reune luego de la Misa de las 9:00am los Lunes y los Viernes para preparar a la iglesia y la capilla para nuestra adoración diara y de los fines de semana. Tenemos un compromiso a mantener nuestros lugares de adoración con dignidad. Esto incluye encargarse de los manteles, velas y los recipientes sagrados. Las flores y las decoraciones son tambien importante para nuestro ministerio. Las mujeres que participamos en el ministerio de Altar Guild (Cofradia del Altar) entrenan a sus miembros.
The purpose of St. Benedict’s Babysitting Ministry is to provide quality childcare so that parents of young children may fully participate in mass. Babysitting may also be offered at other classes, discussions and events at the parish, allowing parents to enhance and deepen their Catholic faith and enjoy social happenings of the church community. Currently, babysitting is being offered during the 8:45 am and 10:45 am Masses on Sunday. The age limit is 1 to 3 years old and the child must be walking. You do not need to sign up ahead of time for babysitting during Sunday Masses. However, for other events, babysitting must be scheduled in advance.
The parish is always looking for more people to join the Babysitting ministry. Parish members who are age 14 or older and enjoy being with children may join this ministry.
El propósito del Ministerio de Babysittig the San Benito es proporcionar cuidado a los niños con calidad de manera que los padres de niños pequeños puedan participar activamente en la misa. Babysitting también puede ser ofrecido durante clases, reuniones y eventos en la parroquia, permitiendo a los padres mejorar y profundizar su fe Católicay disfrutar de los acontecimientos sociales de la comunidad de la iglesia. En estos momentos, se ofrece el servicio de babysitting durante las misas dominicales de las 8:45am y 10:45am. El servicio es para niños de 1 a 3 años que ya caminan. Friends of Martha is a network of volunteers who are on call to serve families when a death occurs. Services include set up, clean up, and coordination of reception of the funeral; childcare during the funeral services; meals and food brought to home; and transportation support. We can help those who need long term support by putting them in touch with the appropriate community or social services.
Friends of Martha (Amigos de Marta) es una red de voluntarios que estan listos para servir a familias que han sido afectados por la muerte de un familiar. Los servicios incluyen la organización, limpieza y coordinación del funeral, cuidado de niños durante el funeral, alimentos ser provistos y soporte con el transporte. Nosotros podemos ayudar a aquellos que necesitan un soporte a mas largo plazos poniendolos en contacto con los servicios sociales o la comunidad.
The Helping Hands ministry provides a hand to members of our own parish family in times of need or crisis. Helping Hands’s mission is to provide a helping hand to families who need it on a temporary basis.
Services that Helping Hands provides include:
I Meals brought to the home for families with new babies, pregnant mothers on bed-rest, or families suffering an illness or death in the family;
I Transportation for elderly, disabled or needy parishioners, to Mass or appointments when no family member can do it; and
I Small repair work, yard work or clean up in times of crisis such as a temporary disability on the part of the homeowner or hurricanes, storm damage, and the like.
Helping Hands (Manos Amigas) es un ministerio que ayuda a los miembros de nuestra parroquia y otras personas/familias a traves de San Vicente de Paul. También asistimos a otros ministerios con proyectos especiales como las comidas para los voluntarios de Habitat para la Humanidad, o los Amigos de Marta. Nuestra misión principal es llegar a aquellos individuos o familias que están en necesidad o pasando alguna dificultad debido a enfermedad. Tambien ayudamos a las mamas cuando acaban de dar a luz para asegurarles una rápida recuperación. Nuestro objetivo es ayudar a las familias de nuestra parroquia a sentirse mas unidas y cuidar unos por otros. Nuestros voluntarios pueden ayudar de diferentes maneras: cocinando comidas, ayudando con el transporte, y en el jardín o en reparaciones de la casa. Tambien necesitamos voluntarios que puedan hacer llamadas telefónicas y programar comidas, etc.
This ministry, consisting of volunteers from our parish family, is completely involved with the ceremony of the Wedding Sacrament. Wedding Guild members assist the Bride and Groom in coordinating their ceremony. Our main goal is to help make this day special and unique for the couple, with little or no problems.
Este ministerio, está formado por voluntarios de nuestra parroquia y está relacionado con el sacramento del matrimonio. Los miembros del Wedding Guild (Cofradia Matrimonial) ayudan al novio y la novia en la coordinación de su ceremonia. Nuestro objetivo principal es ayudar a hacer de este día muy especial y único para la pareja.
The members of this committee serve the parish by creating a warm and inviting presence at the weekend liturgies, and by contacting newly registered parishioners to the parish. Welcome Committee members serve in two distinct capacities: Greeters and New Registration Phone Tree Callers. Greeters are the most visible members of the Welcome Committee; they welcome visitors to the church, supply them with answers to questions about the parish, and ask them to sign our Visitor’s Book. Phone Tree Callers offer a first response to those who actually register in the parish, and serve as the first personal contact by welcoming the new parishioner family and answering any questions they may have about the parish.
Los miembros de este comité sirven a la parroquia creando un ambiente ameno que invita a la participacióon de las liturgias durante los fines de semana y tambien contactando a los nuevos feligreses de la parroquia. Los miembros del Welcome Committee (Comité de Bienvenida) sirven de dos maneras: Receptores y Arbol Telefónico de Nuevos Feligreses. Los Receptores son los miembros mas visibles de nuestro comité, ellos reciben a nuestros visitantes a la iglesia, les responden sus preguntas sobre la parroquia y les solicitan firmar el libro de visitantes. Los miembros del Arbol Telefónico de Nuevos Feligreses ofrecen una primera respuestas a aquellos quienes se han registrado en la parroquia y sirven como el primer contacto personal al recibir a la nueva familia de la parroquia y responderles cualquier pregunta sobre la parroquia.
